Hosting in Austin
Austin's calendar is driven by events: SXSW, ACL, Formula 1 and university weekends create short, high-demand windows around a steady business and relocation market. A city licence per home is required and platforms check it, so the paperwork comes first.
What does a remote co-host handle in Austin?
Listings & calendar
Listing distribution across Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo and direct, with synced calendars and remote reservation management.
Pricing & payouts
We run dynamic pricing with a seasonal rate strategy and a monthly review.
We configure payout and payment settings on every platform, handle tourist tax where we can register remotely, and produce one monthly statement. Platform payouts go to your own accounts; we configure and reconcile them.

24/7 multilingual guest messaging and digital check-in: we handle the online arrival information and guest registration where supported. Your local cleaner and keys stay yours.
What rules apply to short-term rentals in Austin?
City licence, licence number on every listing, and Hotel Occupancy Tax filings.
Every short-term rental in the City of Austin must be licensed; licences run two years and cannot be transferred; new licence USD 736.60, renewal USD 369.60 (non-refundable); the licence number must appear in every listing; a local agent must be able to respond to emergencies within two hours. Check the official page for current fees.
From 1 July 2026 platforms must require a valid licence number for every Austin listing, may not take a booking without one, and must remove a listing within 10 days of a city notice.
Hotel Occupancy Tax: city rate 11% (9% occupancy + 2% venue project tax); since 1 April 2025 platforms collect the city tax (and the state portion) on bookings they take; owners still file quarterly reports (a zero report when there were no rentals) and remit tax on non-platform bookings themselves.
Limits since October 2025: on a single-family site at most two STR units, more only if at least 1,000 feet apart; multi-family the greater of one unit or 10% of units; mixed-use the greater of one unit or 25%. Check the official page for the current rules.
